Wildcats Move To No. 3 in National Polls

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats moved up one spot to No. 3 in both the Sports Network FCS Top 25 and the FCS Coaches Poll. Villanova is one of five CAA teams in the Top 25. CAA teams occupy four of the top eight spots in the polls.
Villanova is coming off a thrilling 21-20 win at No. 1 Richmond. The victory snapped Richmond's 17 game winning streak and improved the Wildcats to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in CAA play.
Southern Illinois moves into the top spot for the first time this year. The Salukis garnered 3,196 points and 37 first place votes. Montana is second with 3,172 points and 64 first place votes. Villanova tallied 3,161 points and 32 first place votes.
CAA members Richmond and William & Mary round out the top five. New Hampshire is the fourth conference school in the Top 10 at No. 8. Delaware is the fifth CAA member in the poll. The Blue Hens are No. 23.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 14, with a road game at Towson. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
