PHILADELPHIA--The Villanova Wildcats moved up two spots from No. 5 to No. 3 in the Sports Network FCS Top 25. Villanova is one of seven CAA teams in the Top 25, including four in the top eight.
Villanova is coming off a 28-7 home win over No. 14 Richmond. With the victory, the Wildcats improve to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in CAA play.
Appalachian State occupies the top spot with 134 first place votes and 3,847 points. Jacksonville State is second with 3,685 points and 16 first place votes. Villanova checks in at No. 3 with 3,388 points and one first place vote.
Other CAA schools ranked include William & Mary (No. 4), Delaware (No. 5), New Hampshire (No. 8), Massachusetts (No. 15), Richmond (No. 20) and James Madison (No. 22).
Villanova returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 6, when they travel to Kingston, R.I., to take on the Rhode Island Rams. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
