Babbaro and Moody Earn CAA Honors

Oct. 29, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. - Two Villanova University football players were honored this week for their play in last week's 35-31 win over No. 15 Hofstra. Redshirt freshman Angelo Babbaro (Canfield, Ohio) was named the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week, while redshirt freshman Martel Moody (Tampa, Fla.) garnered CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.

Babbaro finished the game with 190 yards on five kickoff returns for an average of 38.0 yards per return. Babbaro began the second half by returning the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. This was the first time a Wildcat has returned a kickoff for a score since Moe Gibson accomplished the feat versus William & Mary on Nov. 6, 2004.

Moody started at safety versus Hofstra and tallied two tackles, half a sack and two interceptions. He returned his first interception 43 yards for a touchdown to give Villanova a 21-7 lead. Moody now leads the Wildcats in interceptions with three.

Villanova will return to action this Saturday, Nov. 3, when the Wildcats travel to Richmond. The game can be seen live on television on CN8.
