RICHMOND, Va.--Villanova University sophomore quarterback John Robertson has been named the CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week. He shares the honor with Maine quarterback Marcus Wasilewski. Robertson earns the award for his play in last Saturday's 29-28 loss at No. 25 New Hampshire.
In the New Hampshire game, Robertson tallied 27 carries for a career-high 256 yards and three touchdowns to go with a 15-of-17 passing effort for 122 yards. The 256 yard rushing effort ranks as the second best single game total in school history. Robertson has rushed for over 100 yards in three consecutive games and he now has seven career 100-yard rushing games to his credit.
Robertson has put up amazing numbers the last two weeks. In back-to-back games versus Towson and New Hampshire, he has completed 32-of-35 for 304 yards and two touchdowns and he has rushed 59 times for 406 yards and six scores. All total, he has amassed 710 yards of total offense in the two games.
Villanova returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26, when the Wildcats host nationally ranked Maine at 1 p.m.
