Robertson and McCurry Earn CAA Weekly Honors

RICHMOND, Va.--Two Villanova Wildcats were honored by the CAA for their play in Saturday's 45-35 upset win over No. 3 Towson. Sophomore quarterback John Robertson (Paramus, N.J.) was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore safety Cameron McCurry (Orange Park, Fla.) earned the CAA Defensive Player of the Week.
Robertson turned in a near perfect performance in the win at Towson. He completed 17-of-18 for 182 yards and two touchdowns to go with a career-high 32 carries for 150 yards and three rushing scores. Robertson completed his first 17 passes before throwing an incompletion on his final pass attempt of the game. All total, he finished with 332 yards of total offense. He now has six career 100-yard rushing games, including three this season.
McCurry garners his first weekly CAA honor after registering five tackles, one interception and a forced fumble. He also added a blocked extra point. McCurry currently leads Villanova in interceptions with four and he ranks sixth on the team in tackles with 24.
Villanova returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 19, when the Wildcats travel to New Hampshire for a CAA contest. Kickoff is set for noon and can be seen live on Comcast SportsNet Regional.
