VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats moved up one spot to No. 2 in the Sports Network FCS Top 25. Villanova is one of seven CAA teams in the Top 25. CAA teams occupy five of the top seven spots in the poll.

Richmond maintains the top spot for the second straight week with 3,607 points and 122 first place votes. The Wildcats are second with 3,369 points and 13 first place votes. Northern Iowa is third with 3,271 points (13 first place votes) followed by Montana at No. 4 with 3,075 points and William & Mary at No. 5 with 2,865 points.

In addition to Richmond, Villanova and William & Mary, the other CAA programs ranked this week are New Hampshire at No. 6, James Madison at No. 7, Massachusetts at No. 17 and Maine at No. 20.

Villanova is coming off a 38-17 win over Lehigh in the team's home opener. The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 with a road game at crosstown rival Penn. Kickoff at Franklin Field is set for 7 p.m.
