Football Flies Past Fordham, 24-10, to Advance to I-AA Semifinals
VILLANOVA, Pa. - On Saturday, Dec. 7, at Villanova Stadium, senior Brett Gordon completed 26-of-30 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns, leading Villanova to a 24-10 victory over Fordham in Division I-AA playoff quarterfinals. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 11-3 overall on the year and advance to the semifinals of the I-AA playoffs for the first time in school history.

VILLANOVA, Pa.--In the 2012 home opener Villanova (0-1) takes on Fordham (1-0) tonight at 8:00 PM. Saturday night's game will mark the first meeting between the Wildcats and the Rams since the 2002 playoffs.

Villanova opened the season by playing Temple in the 4th Annual Mayor's Cup at Lincoln Financial Field last Friday night, while Fordham began the year a day earlier with a win over Lock Haven.

Head coach Andy Talley is 9-0 in his Wildcats coaching career against the Rams, including a 24-10 victory in the last meeting on December 7, 2002 in the FCS quarterfinals. Villanova leads the all-time series against the Rams by an overall margin of 19-4-3 and the teams first met back in 1897.
