Football Kicks Off 2017 Season at Lehigh on Saturday Afternoon

Following an enthusiastic preseason camp, No. 10 Villanova (0-0) is finally ready to begin the 2017 season when it kicks off against No. 17 Lehigh (0-0) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The two nationally-ranked teams are meeting for the second straight year and the 14th time overall, with the Wildcats traveling to Goodman Stadium in Bethlehem for the first time in seven years.   • Begins its 120th season of varsity football, and the first in the Mark Ferrante era
  • Has a record of 57-59-3 in season openers, including 23-25-2 in openers on the road
  • This is the second time that the Wildcats will open on the road at Lehigh (1919 – L, 0-47)
