Thomas Weaver signs with Redskins

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Former Villanova defensive lineman Thomas Weaver has signed a free agent contract with the Washington Redskins. Weaver becomes the fourth Wildcat in the last week to sign with a NFL franchise joining Brant Clouser (New York Giants), John Dempsey (St. Louis Rams) and Terence Thomas (Philadelphia Eagles).
Weaver started all 14 games at nose guard last season for Villanova and registered 57 total tackles (27 solo), seven tackles for loss, three quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles.
He becomes the second member of his family to sign a NFL contract. Weaver's father, Emanuel, played for the Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.
Weaver is a native of Irvington, N.J., and a graduate of Irvington High School.
