Terence Thomas Named to Buck Buchanan Watch List

Terence Thomas was a first team All-CAA selection and a second team All-American last season.

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University senior linebacker Terence Thomas has been named to the 2010 preseason Buck Buchanan Watch List. The Buchanan Award, which is given to the top defensive player in FCS football, will be presented on Thursday, Jan. 6 in Frisco, Texas. The FCS Championship game is scheduled for Friday, Jan., 7 in Frisco, Texas.

Thomas has started all 39 games of his Villanova career and will serve as one of four team captains in 2010. As a junior last year, Thomas helped lead the Wildcats to the FCS National Championship by tallying a team-high 116 tackles to go with 11 tackles for loss and 8.5 quarterback sacks. For his efforts last season, Thomas was named first team All-CAA and a second team All-American by the Sports Network.

The Buchanan Award Watch List will undergo revisions throughout the 2010 season with updates scheduled for Oct. 4 and Oct. 25. Ballots will be mailed to a panel of approximately 200 media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries after the regular season on Nov. 22.
