VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcat football team is ranked No. 4 in the sixth annual pre-season AnyGivenSaturday.com (AGS) poll. Villanova returns 15 starters and 31 letterwinners from last year's NCAA quarterfinal team that went 10-3 overall and 7-1 in CAA play.

Defending National Champion and fellow CAA member Richmond is ranked No. 1 in the poll followed by Appalachian State, and Montana. Northern Iowa rounds out the top five.

In addition to Villanova and Richmond, six other CAA schools are ranked in the AGS Top 25, including James Madison at No. 6, New Hampshire at No. 8, William & Mary at No. 13, Maine at No. 15, Massachusetts and No. 18 and Delaware at No. 20.

Villanova kickoffs its 2009 season on Sept. 3 against crosstown rival Temple. The game is scheduled to be played in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.
