VILLANOVA, Pa. - Kickoff times for the 2018 football season were announced on Wednesday afternoon, including a Noon start time for the Wildcats season opener against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field and four afternoon kickoffs on this year's Villanova home schedule. The home opener against CAA Football rival Towson on September 15 will be a 3:30 p.m. start.
The 11-game regular season schedule kicks off on Saturday, September 1 when the Wildcats take on FBS member Temple for the second straight year and the sixth time in the last 10 seasons. The teams renewed the series against each other a year ago and played a close game which was decided on a field goal in the final minute.
Villanova will play a second straight non-conference road game when it travels to Lehigh on September 8 for a 12:30 p.m. contest. The final regular season non-conference game is a home date against Bucknell on September 22 at 6 p.m. That is also the only night game on the Wildcats home schedule.
The home opener against Towson on September 15 will also be the CAA Football opener. The eight-game conference schedule features home games against Towson, James Madison (October 13, 1 p.m.), New Hampshire (October 27, 3:30 p.m.) and William & Mary (November 10, 1 p.m.). The road games in league play are at Stony Brook (September 29, 6 p.m.), Maine (October 6, 3:30 p.m.), Richmond (November 3, 3 p.m.) and Delaware (November 17, 12 p.m.).
