VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley today announced the 2014 Wildcat team captains. Senior wide receiver Poppy Livers (Seaside, Calif.) and senior safety Joe Sarnese (Ventnor, N.J.) will serve as co-captains for the 2014 season.

Livers is coming off a breakout season for the Wildcats. In 11 games last year, Livers tallied a team-high 53 receptions for a team-best 580 yards and three touchdowns. He also saw time on special teams as Villanova's return man where he recorded 16 kickoff returns for 323 yards and eight punt returns for 36 yards. As a sophomore in 2012, Livers earned third team All-CAA honors as a punt returner.

Sarnese has been a mainstay in the Wildcat secondary since his freshman season. He has played in 34 career games and has registered 189 tackles and six interceptions. In 11 contests last season, he was credited with 46 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble. For his efforts in 2012, Sarnese earned third team All-CAA accolades.
