Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley today announced the 2014 Wildcat schedule. The season will kickoff on Friday, August 29, with a game at ACC member Syracuse. This will be the first meeting between the Wildcats and Orange since the 1975 season. Villanova will open the home portion of its schedule against Fordham the following Saturday on Sept. 6, before having a bye week on Sept. 13.
Following the bye, Villanova will begin CAA conference play when the Wildcats host James Madison on Sept. 20. The team will play its final non conference game of the year on Sept. 27 at crosstown rival University of Pennsylvania.
October will start with a road game at Maine on Oct. 4. Villanova then returns home on Oct. 11 to host Rhode Island, before traveling to William & Mary on Oct. 18.
After a road trip to Richmond (Nov. 1) to begin the November portion of the schedule, the Wildcats will have back-to-back home games against Towson (Nov. 8) and Albany (Nov. 15). Villanova will conclude the regular season with the annual Battle of the Blue game at arch rival Delaware on Nov. 22.
