Colgate head coach, Dick Biddle: "They are obviously very good on offense and Westbrook is a very good (running) back. I don't think there is a better back in Division 1-AA football and when you play him on turf he is at an advantage."
...on Villanova running back, Brian Westbrook...
Villanova head coach, Andy Talley: "All in all I was really pleased with our defense. I hope it is a sign of things to come that we are better defensively. I actually think, that aside from Brian (Westbrook), our defense really outshined our offense today. Our defense really helped us win the game.
"We have been watching him (Westbrook) do the same things for a long time. I think what has happened is that we realize we have such a special player so it is neat and fun to just sit back and watch him. Everybody comes in prepared to stop him and he is going to take some extra hits. From a coaching stand point, you know you have something special and it's like, 'When is he going to explode?'"
Villanova running back, Brian Westbrook: "I am proud of myself and my teammates. We have worked hard to get to this point. It has been a long camp. There was a lot of teamwork that went into it. I have to thank all the people on the kickoff return, definitely the offensive line because they opened some big holes today." "It feels good to be 1-0." "I am trying to get ready for the next level. Hopefully I will get the opportunity. I definitely want to take care of things first this season."
