1998: Started all 11 games; Won the Ernie Davis Award which is given to the I-AA player who overcame personal, athletic or academic adversity and performs in an exemplary manner; For his efforts versus Delaware, named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week and ESPN-USA Today National Player of the Week; Again honored as Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Sept. 23;Threw five touchdowns on three different occasions; Completed 40-of-61 for 422 yards and two touchdowns in win over Delaware, establishing school records for completions in a game and passing yards in a game; Was 26-of-49 for 239 yards and two scores versus Pittsburgh; Connected on 18-of-29 for 373 yards (6th best all-time at Villanova) and two touchdowns, including a season-long 72-yarder at James Madison; In a win over William & Mary, he completed 25-of-37 for 276 yards and five touchdowns; Went 29-of-57 for 289 yards and two scores at Northeastern; Connected on 22-of-33 for 301 yards and five scoring strikes in win at Fordham; Threw for 344 yards and five touchdowns by completing 23-of-27 against Buffalo.
1997: Started all 13 games at quarterback; Set 14 Villanova school records; Named to the Walter Camp All-America Team; Earned second team All-America honors from the Associated Press and ESPN/Sportsticker; Selected third team All-American by The Sports Network; Named first team All-Atlantic 10 and first team All-ECAC; Earned USA Today/ESPN National Player of the Week honors on Sept. 15; Completed 281-of-419 for a school record 3,707 yards and a school best 42 touchdowns; 281 completions establishes a new school mark; Threw just five interceptions the entire season; Had an efficiency rating of 172.07; Set a school record with 409 yards passing at Richmond to go with five scoring strikes; Tallied six 300+ yard passing games (348 vs. Delaware, 323 vs. Maine, 409 vs. Richmond, 382 vs. Northeastern, 305 vs. Colgate, 323 vs.Youngstown State); Became first quarterback in school history to throw for 300+ yards in back-to-back games against Delaware and Maine; Named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week honors on three occasions.
SAN CLEMENTE HIGH SCHOOL: As a senior, had 22 completed touchdown passes and 2,592 yards while breaking 11 offensive school records; In 1995, was a first team South County and first team All-League selection; Named 1995 Most Valuable Offensive Player; Lettered two years in football, as well as one year in volleyball; Member of Prinicipal's Honor Roll all four years.
