Daniel Blume begins his second year as an assistant coach with the Villanova program in 2009. He came to the Main Line from his alma mater, Mount Union College, where he has served as an assistant coach since 2006. Blume will once again work with the Wildcat defense in 2009.
As an assistant coach at Mount Union, Blume was the linebackers coach for the 2007 season. He also has responsibilities for running the scout teams and serving as an assistant defensive line coach during his time on the coaching staff. Blume assisted with the team's recruiting efforts in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Iowa.
During his playing career, Blume was a linebacker for a Mount Union program that won national championships in 2002 and 2005 and was the national runner-up in 2003. Blume is a member of the American Football Coaches Association of America (AFCA) and a member of the 2008 AFCA Future Coaches Academy.
Blume is single and resides in Villanova, Pa.
