Villanova Holds First Practice of Preseason Camp
Villanova officially began preparations for the 2015 football season on Wednesday morning with a spirited workout on the Villanova Stadium turf.
Robertson and Cherry Named CAA Football Preseason Players of the Year
CAA Football held its annual football media day this morning at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Villanova senior quarterback John Robertson (Paramus, N.J.) was named the CAA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, while senior linebacker Don Cherry (Trumbull, Conn.) was selected as the league's Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Robertson and Cherry were also named to the CAA Football Preseason All-Conference team. In addition, the Wildcats were picked first in the preseason predicted order of finish.
CAA Football Announces Partnership with Be The Match
CAA Football on Thursday announced a league-wide partnership with Be The Match, which manages the largest and most diverse bone marrow donor registry in the world. The efforts will be headlined by CAA Football’s ‘Be The Match Saturday’ on Oct. 31.

The Stats FCS Preseason All-American team was released on Thursday and quarterback John Robertson along with senior linebacker Don Cherry were both named to the squad.
Construction Underway on West End Zone Project in Villanova Stadium
It was with a great deal of excitement that construction began in and around Villanova Stadium this week on the West End Zone building, an $18 million project which will create a brand new home for the Wildcats football team. Construction will last over a year on the facility, which will benefit all Villanova student-athletes with a centralized athletic performance center. Villanova/Penn Football Game Moved to September 24
Due to the World Meeting of Families and the Papal visit to Philadelphia, the Villanova/Penn football game will be moved from Saturday, Sept. 26, to Thursday, Sept. 24. Kickoff at Villanova Stadium will be at 7 p.m.
Villanova Football To Make Seven TV Appearances in 2015
On Tuesday, June 30, the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced its 2015 football television package. The conference games will be broadcast on the league's three broadcast partners including NBC Sports Network, NBC Sports Regional Networks and the American Sports Network (ASN).
