Bradley Earns Big East Player of the Week Honors

VILLANOVA, PA-- On Monday, Dec. 18, Villanova University junior center Michael Bradley (Worchester, Mass./ Burncoat High School) was named the Big East Conference Player of the Week. It was the second such honor for Bradley thus far in the 2000-01 season.

This past week, Bradley led the Wildcats to a 2-0 record, by registering two consecutive double-doubles. On Monday, Dec. 11, he posted 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-75 victory over St. Joseph's. Later in the week, on Thursday, Dec. 14, Bradley recorded 23 points and 14 rebounds in a 79-72 win versus La Salle.

Bradley is averaging 21.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.1 blocks through Villanova's first seven games of the year. It addition to leading the team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots, he also is tops on the Wildcat squad in shooting at 75 percent (60-for-80).

First in the Big East in field goal percentage, Bradley also ranks near the top of the conference in several other categories including scoring (4th), rebounding (4th), and blocked shots (6th).

Bradley and the Villanova Wildcat (6-1) will resume play on Friday, Dec. 22, when they will host Fairleigh Dickinson at 7:30 p.m.
