Drummond to Pursue Transfer
Dec. 1, 2008
VILLANOVA, Pa. - Junior center Casiem Drummond (East Orange, N.J./Bloomfield Tech) has informed the coaching staff of his desire to locate a program to which he can transfer. "Casiem is interested in finding a place where he can earn significantly more playing time than he has received here," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "Our staff is doing all it can to help him locate that opportunity. Cas' has made strides in his time with us and we appreciate all his efforts on behalf of our basketball family." This season Drummond appeared in two games for Villanova, averaging 2.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 19 minutes. His best game as a Wildcat came on Nov. 25, 2007, when he scored nine points and collected 17 rebounds in a 69-68 loss to North Carolina State in the finals of the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He started nine times over the course of 42 games in a Wildcat uniform. A pair of ankle injuries cost him much of the 2007-08 campaign. Villanova (6-0) meets Penn on Tuesday night at the Palestra (8:00 p.m./CN8 TV and ESPN 950 Radio) in its first Philadelphia Big Five contest of 2008-09.
