VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova returns to the Pavilion tonight after taking three of its four games in the 2K Sports Classic for a home date with Columbia (2-1 overall). The contest gets underway at 7:05 p.m. and will be streamed over the internet via espn3.com.

The game can also be heard locally on 1210 WPHT Radio. (The pre-game show, which begins at 6:30 p.m., will air on Sportsradio 610 WIP until 7:00 p.m.).

The Wildcats (3-1) captured their first three games of 2012-13 before Alabama halted that streak Friday night in the 2K Sports Classic Championship game at Madison Square Garden. Included in that season-opening stretch were a pair of home wins over UDC (78-58) and Marshall (80-68) and a pulsating overtime win over Purdue (89-81) in New York City.

On Monday, freshman guard Ryan Arcidiacono was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for his efforts in the early going. The 6-3 guard, a native of Langhorne, Pa., leads the Wildcats in scoring at 16.3 ppg, assists (18) and minutes played (an average of 33.8 mpg). His 25-point scoring outburst in the win over Marshall marked the first time a Wildcat had recorded 25 or more points in a game since Scottie Reynolds did so seven times during the 2006-07 season.

This clash is the sixth between the Lions and Wildcats. Columbia captured the first meeting on Dec. 29, 1969 and Villanova has taken the last four encounters, all played at the Pavilion. VU downed Columbia 72-56 on Dec. 22, 2007 in the most recent of those duels.

Columbia is paced in scoring by Brian Barbour (13.3 ppg).

Following tonight's action, Villanova gets set for a Sunday Philadelphia Big Five matinee at La Salle (1:05 p.m./CBS Sports Network).
