VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova guard Ryan Arcidiacono is this week's BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office in Providence, R.I.
In the first four games of his collegiate career, Arcidiacono, averaged 16.3 ppg in helping the Wildcats win three of those contests. A 6-3 product of Langhorne, Pa., Arcidiacono scored 25 points in an 80-68 win over Marshall on Nov. 11, becoming the first Villanova freshman since Scottie Reynolds to score 25 or more points in a game.
On Thursday night, Arcidiacono added 18 points to help Villanova rally to defeat Purdue 89-81 in overtime.
The graduate of Neshaminy High School leads the Wildcats in minutes played (135 - 33.8 mpg); assists (18); and scoring.
Villanova hosts Columbia on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. (espn3.com/1210 WPHT).
