VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior guard/forward Dwayne Anderson (Silver Spring, Md./St. Thomas More) has suffered a stress fracture in his left foot and is sidelined indefinitely.

"Dwayne is one of our significant leaders and this is a great loss for our team," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "As bad as we feel about it, we feel even worse for Dwayne. He has put so much into our program and it's tough that this has happened as he starts his senior year. We are taking a wait and see approach to this injury right now."

Anderson's insertion into the starting lineup last Feb. 9 helped ignite Villanova's charge to the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 9.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in the final 14 games of the campaign as the Wildcats advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons. Anderson ended the year with an overall 6.5 ppg scoring average and 2.4 rpg figure in 30 games.
