Blue Rolls Past White 41-33 in Annual Blue/White Scrimmage

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Blue got strong performances from senior James Bell (13 points) and freshman Kris Jenkins (10 points) to down the White 41-33 in the annual intra-squad scrimmage held at the Pavilion today.

Junior JayVaughn Pinkston paced the White with 12 points and five rebounds.

The Blue surged out to an early 8-2 lead and held the advantage the rest of the day. Two 15-minute halved were played and the lead had grown to 24-10 by the end of the first 15-minute session.

"We still have a lot to work on," head coach Jay Wright told the audience after the scrimmage.

Ryan Arcidiacono contributed seven points, two assists and two steals for the winning side, which connected on 11-of-23 field goal attempts and owned a 16-14 rebounding edge. Sophomore Daniel Ochefu contributed five points, six rebounds and a blocked shot while playing all 30 minutes.

Villanova plays its exhibition game one week from today at the Wells Fargo Center against West Chester. Tip-off is set for noon.
