VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior Randy Foye scored 13 points to pace the Blue to a 33-28 victory over the White in the annual Blue/White scrimmage held this evening at the Pavilion. The event was the centerpiece of the annual "Hoops Mania" kickoff basketball celebration and was played before a packed house.

The White team actually jumped out to an early 10-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter (the game was played in four five-minute quarters). Juniors Mike Nardi, who finished with 12 points, and Will Sheridan, who ended the evening with eight points and three rebounds, were the chief catalysts in the fast start.

Behind Foye and sophomore Kyle Lowry, however, the Blue rallied to grab a 14-13 halftime advantage and after a quiet offensive third quarter, held a 17-16 edge.

Foye made a huge 3-point field goal in the fourth and received help from junior Baker Dunleavy, who also drained a three. The Blue went on to post the five-point win.

NOTES: ESPN and CBS analyst Bill Raftery was a special guest. He entered the court wearing a referee's jersey shortly after a video played the tape of his call of the pivotal Ray sequence in the game's final seconds ... Curtis Sumpter was the final Wildcat introduced to the audience and received a thunderous ovation. Earlier today, it was announced that the senior from Brooklyn, N.Y. will soon undergo surgery on his left knee, the same knee that was operated on in April... Jason Fraser did not play in the scrimmage.
