Villanova, Pa. -
Twelve home dates at the Wells Fargo Center and a minimum of 13 meetings with teams that took part in the 2017 NCAA Tournament highlight the 2017-18 Villanova Men's Basketball season presented by KeyBank. The complete '17-18 Wildcats schedule was announced today.
With the renovation of the Finneran Pavilion underway, the Wildcats will host a dozen regular season contests at their home away from home, the Well Fargo Center. Villanova was 4-0 at the Center in 2016-17 on its way to a 32-4 overall finish and BIG EAST regular season and tournament championships. The Wildcats open the new season at the Center on Friday, Nov. 10 against Columbia.
All nine of Villanova's BIG EAST home games will be played at the Center. Six of those contests will feature foes that were part of the '17 NCAA Tournament field, including Marquette (Jan. 7); Xavier (Jan. 10); Providence (Jan. 23); Creighton (Feb. 1); Seton Hall (Feb. 4); and Butler (Feb. 10). The Wildcats will also host St. John's (Feb. 4), DePaul (Feb. 21,) and Georgetown (Mar. 3) at the Center in BIG EAST play.
The Wildcats open the BIG EAST play on the road at DePaul's new Wintrust Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 27 and then meet Butler at Hinkle Field House on Saturday, Dec. 30.
Villanova travels north from campus to PPL Center in Allentown on Friday, Nov. 17 to host Lafayette and will make its first appearance at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum in 35 years when it faces Hofstra on Friday, Dec. 22 at the refurbished venue. The Wildcats will also meet 2017 NCAA Finalist Gonzaga on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden.
In November, the Wildcats return to the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas for three games. The 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis champions will meet Western Kentucky (Nov. 22) in the opener followed by either Tennessee or Purdue in the second round on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 23). The Philadelphia Big Five portion of the schedule features Villanova's only on-campus home game of 2017-18. The Wildcats host Penn at the Jake Nevin Field House on Wednesday, Nov. 29 and La Salle at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday, Dec. 10. They visit Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Temple on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
For the fifth consecutive season, every Villanova regular season game will be televised nationally.
