VILLANOVA, Pa. - The "Inside Villanova Basketball with Jay Wright" television program was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy award, it was announced on Aug. 12. The show, a joint venture of Villanova and IMG Sports, has been produced by Wipe Out Productions, a New Jersey based company owned by broadcaster Scott Graham, since the 2008-09 season.
"Inside Villanova Basketball with Jay Wright" was nominated in the Sports/program category. This is the third such nomination for the program, which is joined in this category in 2014 by "In the Room" - Pittsburgh Penguins; "Inside the Season" - Eagles Television Network; "Penn State Football: The Next Chapter" - Penn State Public Media; and "Temple Football - Inside the Owls' Nest" - 20/20 Visual Media.
"Scott and his team at Wipe Out Productions have enhanced the production quality and added features to help our show grow over the course of our partnership," stated Villanova Senior Associate Athletics Director Bob Steitz, who also serves as Executive Producer. "This nomination is a testament to their skill and craftsmanship in telling the story of Villanova Basketball."
"Scott and the Wipe Out team have done a tremendous job giving the Nova Nation an inside look at our basketball family," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "We're thrilled that Wipe Out Productions is being recognized with this prestigious nomination."
In addition to Graham, Director of Photography Curtis Albucher is a cornerstone of the Wipe Out team and is named on the Emmy nomination.
The 2014 Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards will be presented on Sept. 20 at the Philadelphia Hilton hotel.
