VILLANOVA, Pa. - James Bell, who closed out his career in 2014 as a first team All-BIG EAST selection and the Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Year, has agreed to contract terms with Vanoli Cremona of the Italian A league. The announcement came from the team via its official Twitter account and Eurobasket.com.
Bell spent four seasons in a Villanova uniform, including three as a starter. He enjoyed his best season as a senior in 2013-14 as a key veteran leader on a Wildcats unit that established a new school record for regular season victories (28) and claimed its first outright BIG EAST regular season title since 1982.
In 2013-14 Bell averaged 14.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per outing. He became the 58th player in program history to score 1,000 or more points on the same night Villanova clinched the BIG EAST title, at Xavier on March 6.
Originally from Plainfield, N.J., Bell played his prep basketball at Orlando's Montverde Academy where he was named a Parade All-American. He also was a part of the USA Basketball U19 that competed in Latvia in 2012.
