Wildcats BIG EAST Opponents Revealed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Fresh from their first visit to the Final Four since 1985, the Villanova Wildcats learned Thursday which BIG EAST opponents they will face multiple times in 2009-10. The `Cats will meet Georgetown, Marquette, and West Virginia at home and on the road as part of the 18-game regular season lineup announced by the conference on Thursday.
This marks the third consecutive season in which the conference will play 18 regular season games. Each of the 16 members faces every opponent at least once and three foes twice. Dates and times for the matchups will be announced in September with the complete Wildcat schedule.
Villanova will face these BIG EAST foes at home: Connecticut; DePaul; Georgetown; Marquette; Notre Dame; Providence; Seton Hall; USF; West Virginia.
The Wildcats will journey to these BIG EAST sites: Cincinnati; Georgetown; Louisville; Marquette; Pittsburgh; Rutgers; St. John's; Syracuse; West Virginia.
Villanova earned one of the four double-byes in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament by virtue of a 13-5 regular season mark in 2008-09. The `Cats completed the campaign with an overall record of 30-8.
