VILLANOVA, Pa. - Dominic Cheek, a 6-6, 185 pound guard from St.Anthony's High School (N.J.), has inked a national letter of intent to enroll at Villanova University this fall. Cheek officially joins the previously three announced incoming members of the Wildcats class, which includes Isaiah Armwood and Mouphtaou Yarou of Montrose Christian Academy (Md.) and Philadelphia Roman Catholic High School standout Maalik Wayns, all of whom signed letters with Villanova last November.
As a senior Cheek was named a 2009 McDonald's All-American, joining Wayns on the East roster. He was also tabbed a Jordan Brand All-American and is listed at No. 19 in ESPNU's ranking of the top 100 seniors in the nation.
"We are thrilled to add a player of Dom's ability to our program," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "He comes to Villanova as prepared as any player we have had here, having played for Coach Bob Hurley at St. Anthony's.
"Dom is a winner. He was a part of a national championship team at St. Anthony's and he has a great understanding of the game. We are very excited to have him as a part of our basketball family."
Cheek averaged 14.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game for the Friars in 2008-09.
ESPNU ranks Villanova's class of signees as the No. 2 group in the nation.
