VILLANOVA, Pa - Villanova will cap its 97th season of Division I college basketball with its annual Awards Ceremony this Thursday night on the floor of the Pavilion. The evening officially begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by the program that gets underway at 7 p.m.

A memorial mass, honoring members of the Villanova Basketball community lost in 2016-17, will be celebrated at the St. Thomas of Villanova chapel at 5 p.m.

This annual event has been held in the Pavilion since 2009 and drew its largest crowd ever last season in the wake of the 2016 NCAA national championship. The 2017 event will help honor a 32-4 season that included seven weeks spent atop the Associated Press poll and the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats also claimed their fourth straight BIG EAST regular season title with a 15-3 mark in conference play and won the BIG EAST Tournament championship at Madison Square Garden in March.

The spotlight will shine brightly on a trio of seniors: Josh Hart, Kris Jenkins and Darryl Reynolds. In their four seasons, the Wildcats won 129 games, more than any other single class in program history (as recently as 208, the record stood at 97). The seniors were a perfect 16-0 in Philadelphia Big Five action and earned a BIG EAST championship ring in each of their four years on the squad.

Tickets are still available for Thursday's event at $75 per person. Follow the link at the top of this story to reserve your tickets today. If you are interested in attending the awards portion of the event, which begins at 7:00 PM, you can do so free of charge. Please arrive at the main entrance of the Pavilion at 7:00 PM and you will be directed to a general admission seating area.
