NEW YORK, N.Y. - Five senior members of the 2016 NCAA national basketball champion Villanova Wildcats joined head coach Jay Wright on Friday at the New York Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell, capping a busy week in the aftermath of last week's title clinching win over North Carolina in Houston.

The Wildcats were accorded the honor of ringing the opening bell. That responsibility fell to co-captains Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu, who were joined at the podium by teammates Patrick Farrell, Henry Lowe and Kevin Rafferty.

Last weekend, team members were honored in the Philadelphia region.

On Saturday Arcidiacono, Ochefu and Kris Jenkins were among a group of Wildcats saluted as the Philadelphia Flyers wrapped up their regular season against Pittsburgh. The next day, Jenkins, Ochefu, Phil Booth and Darryl Reynolds were among a contingent that was honored by the 76ers.

On Monday, the full squad took in the Phillies home opener at Citizens Bank Park.

Villanova claimed its second NCAA title on April 4.
