Reynolds and Cunningham Honored by Philadelphia Big Five

PHILADELPHIA - Villanova's Scottie Reynolds and Dante Cunningham were among those named to the All-Big Five squads announced on Wednesday, April 9.They will be honored along with the rest of the first and second teams at the Herb Good Club's 63rd annual banquet on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Colleen's by Les in the Philadelphia Holiday Inn, 900 Packer Avenue. Pat Calathes of Saint Joseph's and Temple's Mark Tyndale have been voted the Philadelphia Big Five's Co-Outstanding Players of the Year by the Herb Good Basketball Club. They will receive the Robert V. Geasey Trophy. Joining Calathes and Tyndale on the All-Big Five first team are La Salle's Darnell Harris, Temple's Dionte Christmas and Reynolds. The second team includes La Salle's Rodney Green, Penn's Brian Grandieri, Villanova's Cunningham and Ahmad Nivins and Rob Ferguson of Saint Joseph's. Reynolds and Cunningham helped lead Villanova to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons in 2007-08. It also marked the third time in four seasons that VU was eliminated from the field of 65 by the eventual national champion, in this case Kansas. Reynolds, a 6-2 native of Herndon, Va., was the Wildats top scorer in '07-08 (15.9 ppg) and Cunningham its top rebounder (6.5 rpg).
