VILLANOVA, Pa. – With only three home games left on the regular season schedule, Villanova returns to the Pavilion Tuesday evening to host Georgetown (13-11 overall, 4-7 BIG EAST). The opening tip will take place just after 7 p.m.

On Monday, the Wildcats moved up two spots in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls, to No. 2 in the nation behind No. 1 Gonzaga. The Wildcats have spent seven weeks atop the AP poll this season and five weeks at No. 1 in the USA Today rankings. They have been ranked no lower than fourth in any of the 14 polls issued to this point in the season.

The Wildcats defeated St. John’s 92-79 on Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center to improve to 22-2 overall, 9-2 in the BIG EAST. Villanova picked up the win despite committing a season high 23 turnovers.

Georgetown will be making its first appearance at the Pavilion since 2006 and only third all-time (2004-05 and 2005-06 were the others.).

“That’s a long, athletic Georgetown team that could turn us over like St. John’s did,” stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “We’ve got to get a lot better handling that.”

Josh Hart, who scored 26 points and added nine rebounds in the win over the Red Storm, was tabbed Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week on Monday for his work in a 2-0 week. The BIG EAST also tabbed Hart to its weekly Honor Roll.

“Every team isn’t complete until the end of the year,” stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright after the win on Saturday. “You’ve got a lot of practices to go, seven regular season games before the Big East Tournament. I want to see how we keep growing. There’s a lot of room for improvement and that’s encouraging to me.”

Following this game Villanova will play its next three contests on the road. That stretch begins Saturday at Xavier (2:30 p.m. on Fox TV and 610 Sports Radio) and continues next Monday evening at DePaul and on Saturday, Feb. 18 against Seton Hall in Newark, N.J.
