VILLANOVA, Pa. - The BIG EAST Conference today named sophomore guard Scottie Reynolds (Herndon, Va./Herndon High School) its player of the week. This marks the first time Reynolds has been named BIG EAST player of the week, though he earned conference rookie of the week honors three times in 2006-07.

Reynolds led the Wildcats to a 2-0 week by averaging 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals. In Saturday's 81-71 victory at Syracuse, he scored a game-high 25 points, grabbed six rebounds and made four steals. Earlier in the week, Reynolds had 21 points in a 76-69 win over DePaul. For the season, he is averaging a team-leading 17.5 points and 4.2 assists.

In 49 career games, Reynolds has already scored 767 points - an average of 15.6 per game.

Villanova (13-3 overall, 3-2 BIG EAST) returns to the hardwood on Wednesday night at Rutgers (7:00 p.m./ESPNU).
