FINAL: Senior National Team of Georgia 87, Villanova 54

SITE: Almere, The Netherlands

SUMMARY: The Georgian Senior National Team used a surge near the end of the first half to open up a 49-30 edge at intermission and went on to post an 87-54 victory in the final game of Villanova's exhibition tour of Europe on Sunday afternoon.

SCORING LEADERS: Juniors Dominic Cheek tallied 11 first quarter points and finished with 14 points on the afternoon. Classmates Mouphtaou Yarou and Maalik Wayns also added nine points. No Wildcat saw more than 25 minutes of action

LEADING GEORGIA: Zaza Pachulia of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks paced Georgia with 20 points.

HELP FROM TWO NEWCOMERS: Villanova freshman Achraf Yacoubou came off the bench to supply eight points in 22:04 while JayVaughn Pinkston added seven points and six rebounds in 20:52 of action.

FOUL WOES: The Wildcats were hanging in the game until foul trouble cropped up late in the second period. Starters Isaiah Armwood, Wayns and Yarou were all on the bench in the final three minutes of the period as Georgia scored the last nine points of the half.

HEAD COACH Jay Wright: "This Georgia team was the best team we faced on this trip. They have great shooters and are well-coached. It's a good team with a great player in Zaza Pachulia."

"This trip worked out perfectly for us. We played the best team in the end and every team we played as we went along was a little bit better than the last. I felt we got a little bit better and the important thing was we learned a lot about ourselves. We played everybody today and treated this one a little bit more like practice to give people a chance. We got a lot of teaching in and a lot of bonding over here. It was a great experience in some big-time games."

"One of the things you see with these professional teams is that we came in all excited and got off to good starts. By the end of the game we were exhausted. At the start these teams look like they aren't sharp but by the end of the game they're killers. I think that's the experience of being professionals."

"I wouldn't have done this trip any other way."
