Villanova played its sixth game of the season against a nationally-ranked opponent tonight. The Wildcats are 4-2 against ranked opponents, with all of the wins coming at home and both losses coming on the road.
Villanova wins over ranked teams in 2012-13:
Villanova is 3-0 this season against opponents ranked in the top five, including victories against then-No. 5 Louisville, then-No. 3 Syracuse and tonight against No. 5 Georgetown. This is the second time ever that the Wildcats have at least three top-five wins in a season. The previous occasion was four top-five wins during the national championship season of 1984-85.

Villanova has played 68 games at the Wells Fargo Center and half of them (34) were against nationally-ranked teams. In those 34 games the Wildcats have a 15-19 (.441) record, including a perfect 3-0 mark this season.
Villanova is 4-4 all-time against Georgetown at the Wells Fargo Center.
Villanova made over 30 free throws and attempted more than 40 foul shots for the third time this season. The three games in which the Wildcats met each of this criteria:
Villanova attempted just 34 field goals in the game and made 16-of-34 (.471) from the field. The last time the Wildcats attempted fewer than 34 field goals in a game was on March 15, 1991 when Villanova made 17-of-29 (.586) from the field in a 50-48 win over Princeton in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Tonight's game was only the fourth time in the last 23 years t at Villanova attempted fewer than 40 field goals in a game.
