Villanova, Pa. -
Head Coach Jay Wright
"That was a good performance for us...I have watched a lot of Cincinnati games. They play hard and tough on the road. This is the second game in a row that we have come out and executed at the start. We got a little sloppy once we got the lead, but I like how we are coming out at the start. WE are coming prepared and executing our gameplan...we did a good job."
On playing well from the start
"Yeah...they hit a couple shots at the start. But I felt like we were executing early. On the first play even though it was a turnover, Curt made a good read. Will (Sheridan) was there but just got it ripped out of his hands. But that is what we were trying to do."
On the team's defensive effort
"I feel really good about the defensive effort. I feel like we have a consistency there that we can count on every night and that's important. Mike (Nardi) hasn't been hitting those three's consistently and we have still been winning some games because our defense has been solid...and it has been consistent and that is what you have to do."
Senior guard Mike Nardi
On playing a very good overall floor game tonight
"I have been working in practice on getting into the lane and slowing down. We have been using the ball screen a lot, so just being patient and making the simple play is important for us."
On Curtis Sumpter tonight
"The way they were playing Curt, with double and triple teams, he was making great decisions and getting other guys open shots. We know that he is going to get it going sooner or later in the game, so we just wanted to try to keep working him and get him involved."
