PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
Villanova Head Coach Jay Wright
"It was a typical BIG EAST game. I thought we actually played better basketball against Notre Dame and Pitt. I don't think we played that well, but we scrapped and fought and hit some timely shots."
"I think we know we have to get better and I think we can get better."
"He is really working hard in practice and starting to understand how to play at this level and we need him. We need guard play...Mike and Scottie are playing more minutes, but we are trying to get those guys rest. Reggie has earned it, his doing a great job and we need him to keep getting better."
On guarding Louisville's David Padgett
"We had a lot of bodies on him. Will did a great job on him, Dante did a great job on him even though he got into some foul trouble and Curt also did a good job on him. We really did it by committee. I also thought our guards did a good job coming down and doubling him. It was definitely a team effort."
Villanova guard Scottie Reynolds
Did the team look at this game as on you had to win?
"We just try to take each game one at a time. They came into the game playing really well and were the hottest team in the conference. So we knew we had to be prepared and hungry."
What will you guys take from this win?
"We executed well down the stretch and we hit some big shots. We just found a way too get a win and that is what we will take from this game. But like coach said, we all know that we need to get a lot better."
