VILLANOVA, Pa. -
Villanova Head Coach Jay Wright
It obviously wasn't a pretty game for us. But the season is a journey. It is not a pretty one yet, but I think we have a good group. This group is going to be alright, but we are going to have some valleys that we have to go through and that's what this is right now..."
The difference at the end...
"It's never one thing. You have to give DePaul credit, they buckled down and played good defense there at the end. I think good teams do that. We took the lead and on the next possession, gave up a three. Good teams don't do that. We are going to be a good team and we are going to learn that..."
Can you pinpoint where the breakdowns are coming on defense?
"I can't really pinpoint it. Coach Wright is right, the past couple years we have always taken pride in our defense and now we are struggling at it..."
Was this one of the more frustrating losses since you have been here?
"It just made me think that's how it used to be. Teams would crawl back and they would hit a big shot and then we would keep clawing back. That's what we did today...every time we got back in it, DePaul would hit a big shot..."
