Wildcats' Staff Reorganization Announced

Duties Shifted for Several Members of Jay Wright's Staff

George Halcovage, who first joined the Wildcats as a graduate assistant coach in 2008, begins his second season in the role of Director of Basketball Operations in 2016-17.

Halcovage was a part of the Villanova staff that guided the Wildcats to the 2009 NCAA Final Four in Detroit. In 2010, he moved over to become the Video Coordinator/Graduate Intern. In this role he helped break down coaching tape and handled Villanova’s Video Exchange program.

Presently Halcovage is repsonsible for a wide range of tasks surrounding the day-to-day function of the basketball program.

Halcovage is a native of Pottsville, Pa. He attended Nativity BVM High School and went on to Babson College, where he played four seasons of varsity basketball as a point guard. In his final two seasons he coordinated the New England Coaches Association (NEBCA) "Coaches vs. Cancer" all-star game.
