Former Villanova Wildcat Baker Dunleavy was elevated to the position of Associate Head Coach in September 2013 after previously serving as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations for the 'Cats.

In this role, Dunleavy assists Head Coach Jay Wright in all facets of the program, including on-court teaching, player development and recruiting. In his first season in this capacity, the Wildcats posted a new school record 28 regular season victories, earned the BIG EAST regular season title and climbed as high as No. 3 in the national rankings.

"Baker was one of the leaders of our 2006 Big East championship team and he's developed into an outstanding coach," says Wright. "Baker has a great understanding of what it takes to succeed at this level and an instinctive feel for this program's core values. He serves as a great example of what a successful Villanova Basketball player can become."

Dunleavy was a standout at Jesuit High School in Portland, Ore., averaging 14 points and six rebounds per game as a senior in 2000-01. Following a post-graduate campaign at Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep, the 6-5 swingman enrolled at Villanova as part of one of the most notable recruiting classes in the history of Villanova that included Randy Foye, Jason Fraser, Allan Ray and Curtis Sumpter.

As a Wildcat, Dunleavy appeared in 28 games over his four seasons, starting once. As a junior he was a part of the VU squad that helped the `Cats return to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in and a year later was part of the only Villanova team to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

After earning his degree in 2006, Dunleavy settled in New York City, where he worked for Merrill Lynch before accepting his current position. His brother Mike Dunleavy is a former NBA first round draft pick now a member of the Milwaukee Bucks and his father, Mike Dunleavy, Sr., was the head coach for four NBA franchises, most recently the Los Angeles Clippers.

Dunleavy married the former Chrissi Ingelsby in August 2012. The couple makes its home in Wayne, Pa., and welcomed a daughter (Rosie) in March 2014.
