Villanova Inks Brooks Sales to National Letter of Intent

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova head men's basketball coach Steve Lappas announced today that Brooks Sales has signed a national letter of intent to attend Villanova University and play basketball next fall.

Sales, a six-foot-nine 210-pound forward from Bloomfield, Conn., is a two-time all-state selection. A standout at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, Conn., Sales averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and four assists per game as a junior last season. In addition, Sales was selected to the Connecticut Dream Dozen Team following the 1996-97 campaign, and participated in the Adidas All-America camp over the summer.

Sales is the younger brother of the University of Connecticut's Nykesha Sales, who was cited as the Big East Women's Preseason Player of the Year and earned All-America honors a season ago.

"We are very pleased to have Brooks joining our team," said Lappas. "He is an extremely well rounded player who we believe has tremendous upside. He is an excellent addition with a great future."
