VILLANOVA, Pa.--Winter baseball camps and clinics are returning to Villanova this year and the baseball team has announced the dates and other information for its holiday clinics. The Wildcats will host a holiday baseball clinic on campus and will also have two sessions of a clinic for high school players at the All Star Baseball Academy in West Chester. Information on both clinics is below.

Session I: Monday, December 29, 2008 (position players 1-4 p.m.; pitchers 2-5 p.m.)
Session II: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 (position players 1-4 p.m.; pitchers 2-5 p.m.)

All Two Way Players Report with Pitchers
Registration will be 30 minutes prior to start time

Format

• Players will choose a defensive position and be grouped by that position. Each session will begin with a PRO-STYLE INDOOR WORKOUT. Players will be evaluated in all aspects of offensive and defensive baseball. Pitchers will throw full bullpens and face live hitters.
• All Star Baseball Academy has a FULL turf infield along with six batting tunnels and three bullpens.
• All players will receive an official Villanova baseball t-shirt.

The Villanova University Indoor Winter Prospect Clinic offers a unique baseball learning opportunity for the high school player who has aspirations of playing baseball at the highest level. This one-day format is very intense and instructional and will have a large emphasis on individual position play, hitting fundamentals, and the mental game.

Players receive:

• One day of elite professional instruction
• Opportunity to meet, learn, and be evaluated by the Villanova University coaching staff
• Invaluable experience for future baseball success
• Drills and instruction on the Villanova University hitting and pitching philosophies
• Informative tips and teaching of proper base running principles
• Defensive position specific drills
• An official Villanova Baseball T-shirt

This camp is designed for the advanced high school player. Players will be grouped according to position. Each pitcher will throw a full bullpen as well as be introduced to the Villanova throwing and pitching program. Hitters will get to take live batting practice and learn and practice the same hitting drills that the Villanova baseball team goes through on a daily basis. Seniors in High School may attend and are encouraged. Enrollment will be limited and is only guaranteed on a first-come first-served basis. Reserve a spot now as the camp will fill quickly.

Play Like A Pro Baseball Academy is a 33,000 square foot facility which includes:

• 8 indoor hitting tunnels
• 4 pitching mounds
• 80 X 40 ft. fielding area
• 96 X 40 ft. field

An official Villanova baseball t-shirt will be given to each player attending the December 27 baseball clinic. Please pay your registration fee of $70 prior to December 21, 2008.
