Baseball Scout Day - Saturday, September 21 at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth
The annual Villanova event for Major League Baseball scouts and talent evaluators is also open to fans and is an opportunity to see the Wildcats take part in a professional style workout. Villanova players will begin the day with stretching and running 60's, followed by batting practice, infield/outfield and a modified game. Click here for a full schedule, including batting practice groups and scheduled pitchers, for Scout Day.
During batting practice scheduled hitters will be in the cage for two rounds of six swings each. Later, during the simulated game, each scheduled pitcher that throws will face three to five batters batters during their appearance.
Scout Day allows pro scouts to formulate a plan for the spring season with regards to following potential Major League draft prospects on the team. The Wildcats have had 22 draft picks during Godri's coaching tenure, including at least one pitcher being drafted in 11 of Godri's 12 years as head coach. In addition, Godri and his coaching staff have recruited several other prospects who were drafted out of high school.
