MANCHESTER, N.H. - Villanova right-handed pitcher Kyle McMyne (Old Forge, Pa.) was selected to the league-wide NECBL All-Star Team that played an exhibition game against the USA Baseball collegiate National Team this past weekend. McMyne was one of 12 pitchers chosen to represent Team NECBL against Team USA. The exhibition took place this past Sunday, July 5, at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium in Manchester.

McMyne faced five batters from Team USA in the bottom of the eighth inning of the contest, allowing two hits and a run with one walk and one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. Team NECBL was defeated by a final score of 4-1. He is coming off his freshman season for the Wildcats and is enjoying a strong summer pitching in the NECBL for the Keene Swamp Bats.

Through games of July 6, McMyne had pitched in nine games out of the bullpen for Keene and posted a 1.29 ERA in 14.0 innings pitched. He has allowed just five hits - including four singles - to the opposition and limited opponents to a .106 batting average against him. McMyne has also walked nine and struck out 19 while compiling no record and one save. The Swamp Bats are 15-7 as a team and stand in first place in the Western Division, holding a 1 ½ game lead over the Vermont Mountaineers.

McMyne pitched in 14 games as a freshman for Villanova this past season, making one start and 13 relief appearances. He had a 1-2 record and one save while striking out 18 batters in 22 1/3 innings.
