Offense Keeps Rolling as Wildcats Down Georgetown, 10-5
Senior left fielder Adam Goss (Bellaire, Texas) hit a two-run double with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the second inning and senior third baseman Kevin Jewitt (West Chester, Pa.) followed with a two-run single during a six-run frame as Villanova (20-29, 5-10 BIG EAST) won the game and the series against Georgetown (25-29, 8-10 BIG EAST) with a 10-5 victory at Shirley Povich Field on Sunday afternoon.
Wildcats Come Up Short in Seesaw Game, Fall 10-8 to Georgetown
In a game that started over an hour late, lasted for nearly four hours and ended just before midnight, Villanova (19-29, 4-10 BIG EAST) came up just short of a ninth inning rally and fell by a final score of 10-8 to Georgetown (25-28, 8-9 BIG EAST) at Shirley Povich Field on Saturday night. Senior first baseman Max Beermann (Tampa, Fla.) hit his seventh home run of the season and had three hits for the Wildcats, while junior right fielder Donovan May (Newark, Del.) also had three hits to continue his recent hot streak.
Czinege Blast Powers Wildcats Over Georgetown, 6-1 in Series Opener
Junior second baseman Todd Czinege (Overland Park, Kan.) hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning and junior starting pitcher Hunter Schryver (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) produced his ninth quality start of the season as Villanova (19-28, 4-9 BIG EAST) opened a three-game series with a 6-1 win over Georgetown (24-28, 7-9 BIG EAST) at Shirley Povich Field on Friday night. A single run in the top of the first inning got the Wildcats started and the offense had 12 hits in the win.
Wildcats Head to Georgetown For Three-Game Series Against a Traditional Rival
Three games in a span of less than 48 hours await Villanova (18-28, 3-9 BIG EAST) this weekend as the Wildcats head to Georgetown (24-27, 7-8 BIG EAST) for their second conference road series of the season. Villanova is returning to BIG EAST action after having a bye week and playing NYIT at home last weekend.

The bases were loaded with nobody out in the top of the ninth inning, but the tightest of jams in a one-run game dissipated as quickly as it had developed and Villanova (18-28) hung on for a 4-3 win over LIU-Brooklyn (14-32) at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon. Senior reliever Kagan Richardson (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) faced the minimum number of batters in six scoreless innings out of the bullpen, while junior Woody Bryson (Cambridge, Mass.) got out of the ninth inning jam to earn his third save of the year.
Wildcats Surge Past NYIT For 8-2 Victory in Series Finale
Sophomore center fielder David Gulati (Collegeville, Pa.) and redshirt freshman pinch hitter Lukas DeRenzi (Mendham, N.J.) hit consecutive run-scoring singles in the bottom of the sixth inning and Villanova (17-28) rolled past NYIT (17-26) for an 8-2 victory at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Sunday afternoon. A four-run eighth inning gave the Wildcats some breathing room on a day when the offense produced eight runs on 11 hits.
Morris Scores Winning Run in 11th Inning as Wildcats Rally Past NYIT, 6-5
Senior designated hitter Emmanuel Morris (Willowbrook, Ill.) raced home from third on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning and Villanova (16-28) rallied for a 6-5 win over NYIT (17-25) at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Saturday afternoon. Despite getting just four hits in the game, the Wildcats overcame a 5-1 deficit in the fifth inning and got a combined seven scoreless relief innings from senior Kagan Richardson (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) and junior Woody Bryson (Cambridge, Mass.).
Friday's Baseball Game against NYIT Cancelled Due to Rain
Friday's series opener between Villanova and NYIT at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth has been cancelled due to rain and will not be made up. The remainder of the weekend series will be played as scheduled.
