VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova announced several changes to its baseball schedule today, beginning with the cancellation of this afternoon's game against St. Joseph's. Both the Wildcats and the Hawks were stuck on the road for longer than planned this weekend when conference games were rained out, and that forced a cancellation.
Villanova begins a stretch of five consecutive home games on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. when it hosts Coppin State in a single, nine-inning game.
Currently, the Wildcats are working with St. Joseph's to try and reschedule this afternoon's game, possibly for later this week. However, no details have been finalized, and an announcement regarding the date and time of the game will be made at a later date.
Villanova is coming off a three-game Big East series against Georgetown. The Wildcats took two of three games in the series, including a marathon 4-3 victory in 13 innings in the final game. The Wildcats are 15-7-1 overall and have a 4-3 record in conference play.
