VILLANOVA, Pa. - The first of three scheduled games in North Carolina this weekend has been moved up to this afternoon and Villanova will face No. 10 North Carolina State starting at 4 p.m. at Doak Field. There is a potential for further updates to the Wildcats schedule this weekend and those announcements will be made as they become available.
Senior right-handed pitcher Kevin MacLachlan (Matawan, N.J.) will start for Villanova this afternoon. The game will only be the second of the season for the Wildcats, who had two contests wiped out last weekend at the Ron Fraser Classic. MacLachlan appeared in relief during last Friday's season-opener against Monmouth and for his career has made 28 relief appearances and 17 starts. He has yielded three earned runs or less in all but five of his starts.
Villanova is also scheduled to face La Salle and Wagner this weekend, with those games currently scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday, respectively. Any schedule changes during the weekend will be announced at Villanova.com and on Twitter (@VUBaseball).
