CARY, N.C. - Due to a forecast of cold temperatures and the chance for precipitation on Saturday there have been a number of schedule changes announced for this weekend's Ron Fraser Classic at the USA Baseball Training Complex. As a result of the modified schedule Villanova will now play two games on Saturday, facing Monmouth at 9:30 a.m. and La Salle at 12:30 p.m. These games replace the originally scheduled contests for the day, which would have been against Canisius and Toledo.
Villanova and Monmouth played on Friday afternoon in the season opener for both teams, with the Hawks holding on late for a 7-6 victory. In the rematch on Saturday morning sophomore Josh Harris (Streamwood, Ill.) will get the start for the Wildcats.
The second game of the day for Villanova will be against the Explorers and senior Stephen Ostapeck (Sacramento, Calif.) is expected to make the start. This will be the first of four meetings between the teams this season, as the Wildcats and La Salle also play next weekend in a tournament at North Carolina State as well as two times next month at each team's home field.
